Dr. Nery M. Aguilar earned her PhD degree in chemistry in September 2023 from the Meritorious Autonomous University of Puebla (BUAP). She recently joined the National System of Researchers of Mexico (SNI), obtaining the distinction of Level I, which honors early-career researchers with impactful work and academic potential.
Throughout her academic journey, Dr. M. Aguilar has specialized in the design and synthesis of novel polymeric systems, particularly focusing on their integration with inorganic materials to yield innovative composites with enhanced properties. Her research interests lie at the intersection of polymer chemistry, material science, and nanotechnology. By combining polymers with inorganic materials, Dr. Nery aims to produce multifunctional composites that can be applied in different fields, including energy storage, environmental remediation, and biomedicine.
Dr. M. Aguilar is the author of eight publications indexed, she has a patent application in México, and she has co-advised a bachelor’s thesis at BUAP. Furthermore, Dr. Nery M. Aguilar has actively participated in numerous national and international scientific conferences. She has also been involved in teaching undergraduate students and in various scientific dissemination activities.
Dr. M. Aguilar's research has been enriched by her involvement in several collaborations with prestigious research groups.
Currently, Dr. Nery M. Aguilar is continuing her academic career as a postdoctoral researcher in the Hybrid Materials for Energy group at POLYMAT (Basque Center for Macromolecular Design and Engineering), managed by Dr. Irune Villaluenga.
