BENITEZ ROJAS, ALFREDO CESAR

Chemist and pharmacobiologist from the Benemerita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP), Specialist in Food Technology from the same University, Master in Biotechnology from the University of the Americas Puebla (UDLAP) and Ph D for Science in Biotechnology from the Center for Research in Applied Biotechnology (CIBA) of the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN).
I began professional work as an analyst chemist in the clinic field and later joined the Full-Time Research Professor position at the Universidad Tecnológica de Huejotzingo (UTH) in the Food Technology program. There, I directed over 35 theses and industrial projects in areas related to Food Safety, mainly in the design and implementation of the HACCP system for dairy products.
I have participated as a consultant in Biotechnology and Food Technology. I have been Coordinator of the Biotechnology and Nutrition programs at Universidad Interamericana A.C. and Delegate of the State Chemistry Olympiad by the Mexican Academy of Sciences. I also participated in the design of the Intermediate Basic Sciences Exam (Chemistry) for CENEVAL Engineering.
My currently works as Full-Time Research Professor at the Universidad Popular Autónoma de Puebla (UPAEP) where I participate in the research lines of Food, Industrial and Instrumental Biotechnology, in addition to teaching the subjects of General Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Bioprocesses, Food Technology, Development of New Food Products, Industrialization of Fruits and Vegetables, Industrialization of Meat and Milk, Food Safety, Microbiology Applied to Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Metabolic Engineering.
My scientific interests are in Biotechnology, food Technology, Bioprocesses, and Instrumental Biotechnology, where I have made both national and international contributions. I am also a member of the "peer evaluation" committees of three international journals.
