I am a marine biologist from the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur, La Paz, BCS, Mexico, with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the Medical University of South Carolina, in Charleston, SC, USA. I funded the Molecular Biology laboratory from the Mazatlán Unit at CIAD, as well as the Tissue Culture lab to perform high quality scientific research and student training. My research interests are focused on developmental and reproductive biology, I study epigenetic regulation of developmental genes and teratogenesis, as well as factors (e.g. epigenetic, microbiome) affecting maternal-fetal health.
