She is a mentor of the AFINES program (Support and Promotion of Student Research) and of postgraduate students from both UNAM and CINVESTAV: master's, doctorate in sciences, and postdoctoral levels. She recently received the Matias Romero Award for Joint Research (the University of Texas, at Austin – Mexico, 2019-2020). Her laboratory (Cellular Reprogramming and Chronic-degenerative Diseases Laboratory) is dedicated to investigating the molecular mechanisms involved in neurodegeneration and neurodevelopment and its relationship with cellular stress and neuronal differentiation. She is a National Researcher Level I and PRIDE C and has 38 international scientific publications in indexed and peer-reviewed journals.
