He completed his civil engineering course and master´s degree in Systems Engineering at the National Autonomous University of Mexico in 2002. The following year he was a Ph D Student at the University of Birmingham (UK), finishing in 2006. Then, David became a full time lecturer and researcher within the School of Engineering at the Autonomous University of the State of México (UAEM). He has carried out short research visits in Germany, The Netherlands, Malaysia and Korea. His main research interests include: risk management in infrastructure, and construction management.
