Mario Arrieta Paternina received the B.Eng. and M.Eng. in Electrical Engineering from National University of Colombia, in 2007 and 2009, respectively. In 2017, he received the D.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering at CINVESTAV, Guadalajara, Mexico. From 2009 to 2013, he was lecturing and heading undergraduate projects in electrical engineering at the Technological University of Bolivar, Cartagena, Colombia, and the Pascual Bravo University Institution, Medellín, Colombia. He joined the Department of Electrical Engineering of the National Autonomous University of Mexico in 2017, where he is currently a full-time Professor. His main research interests include modeling, monitoring, protection, and control of modern energy systems. Dr. Paternina is a member of the Mexican Research System.
