RUIZ DE ALEGRIA ARZABURU, AMAIA

Amaia moved to Mexico as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Engineering of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) after finishing her PhD in Coastal Morphodynamics at the University of Plymouth (UK) in 2010. Since 2012, she has been a Research Scientist (permanent position) at the Institute of Oceanographic Research in the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC) located in Ensenada (Baja California, México).

She currently holds a Level 2 in the National Research System (SNII) of CONAHCyT, equivalent to an Associate Professorship. She has led many national (SENER-CONAHCyT, Ciencia Básica-CONAHCyT, INFR-CONAHCyT, SEP-PRODEP, internal UABC) and international (UC-MEXUS, AlianzaMX) research projects, involving nearshore hydrodynamics, beach morphodynamics and sediment transport processes. She has supervised 4PhD, 11 MSc and 2 BSc thesis (national and international), is currently supervising 1 PhD student, and is author/coauthor of over 35 peer reviewed research articles with around 600 citations (ORCID:0000-0002-3872-1757; Scopus:21734550500).
