Alejandro Martinez-Rios received the Engineering degree in electromechanics from the Instituto Tecnologico de Leon, Mexico, in 1994, and the Ph.D. degree in optics from the Centro de Investigaciones en Optica (CIO), Leon, México, in 2000. From 2001 to 2002, he was a Senior Scientist with LaserSharp Corporation, Hopkinton MA. In 2010, he was on sabbatical with the Natural Sciences Department, California University, Merced. Since 2003, he has been with CIO as a Titular Researcher C. His research interests include optical fiber sensors and laser devices, and nonlinear optics.
