He is a researcher at the Institute of Geography (IGg) of UNAM and a professor at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences (FCPyS), as well as at the National School of Earth Sciences (ENCiT) of the same university. He is a Level 1 member of the National System of Researchers (SNI). His research focuses on the geography of the mining and metallurgical industry and environmental conflicts.
