ROGEL SALAZAR, ROSARIO

Rosario Rogel-Salazar is a Sociologist and Professor-Researcher at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMéx) and a Level 2 member of the Mexican National System of Researchers (SNII). Her work focuses on the sociology of knowledge, open science, research assessment, and scholarly publishing in Latin America.

Rosario serves on the Board of Directors of the Open Education Conference and was recognized as a PREreview Champion 2025 for her leadership in community-driven open peer review.

She develops open educational resources and digital projects—such as Huellas Incómodas, Luhmann Web 4.0, and Weber on the Web—and mentors early-career researchers globally. Her current research examines the impact of algorithmic systems and AI on scholarly communication.

Rosario Rogel-Salazar es socióloga y Profesora-Investigadora de la Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMéx), Nivel 2 del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (SNII). Su trabajo se centra en sociología del conocimiento, ciencia abierta, evaluación de la investigación y edición científica en América Latina.

Forma parte del Board of Directors de la Open Education Conference y fue reconocida como PREreview Champion 2025 por su liderazgo en revisión por pares abierta.

Desarrolla recursos educativos abiertos y proyectos digitales—como Huellas Incómodas, Luhmann Web 4.0 y Weber on the Web—y acompaña procesos de mentoría internacional. Su investigación actual analiza los efectos de los sistemas algorítmicos y la IA en la comunicación académica.
