Dr. Ernesto Oregel-Zamudio is a Professor-Researcher at the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN), CIIDIR Michoacán, Mexico. His research focuses on the chemical ecology of horticultural volatilome, the development of edible films and microfluidic systems for bioactive encapsulation, and the ecotoxicology of contaminants in agricultural and aquatic ecosystems. He has published in high-impact international journals and leads projects funded by the Secretaría de Investigación y Posgrado (SIP-IPN), as well as collaborative initiatives with the productive sector to design applied postharvest conservation technologies and promote agro-food sustainability. He is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNII, Level I) and recipient of the IPN Award for Research in the Young Investigator category. Dr. Oregel-Zamudio directs the Laboratory of Chemical Ecology and Postharvest Conservation, where he trains graduate students and fosters scientific innovation and technology transfer with global impact.
