Romeo is professor and researcher at the Xabier Gorostiaga SJ Environmental Research Institute of the Universidad Iberoamericana Puebla and El Colegio de Puebla AC. He is a doctor in Ecology from the Institute of Ecology A.C. and Biologist by UNAM. His research areas are urban ecology and comparative ecology. He is coordinator of the research network "Biology, Management and Conservation of Native Fauna in Anthropized Environments" (REFAMA). He is member of the National System of Researchers of CONACyT-Mexico. His research has provided new knowledge on the ecology of vertebrates and about the environmental problems of Mexico. Their research has been reported by journalistic agencies such as the BBC, Nexos, La Jornada and Milenio.
