Luis Humberto Rodríguez Silva holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics and an MA in Applied Linguistics from the University of Essex in England. He also holds a BA in ELT from Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes. He has been part of the Language Department of the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes since 1998. He was also the Head of the Department from 2005 to 2011. His main research interests are the learning difficulty of grammatical structures, written errors in academic writing, the use of L1 in the classroom, language learning aptitude, working memory capacity, and implicit and explicit knowledge. He is about to conclude his second research project on "El rol que juega la información explícita en al aprendizaje de las estructuras gramaticales en inglés de las cláusulas relativas".
