I have a Master’s degree in Biochemistry and a PhD in Biological Sciences. For the past 28 years, I have worked as a Research Scientist at the INNNMVS Department of Neurogenetics. My research has focused on neurodegenerative disorders, particularly dementia: Alzheimer disease, Frontotemporal dementia, Prion diseases, Huntington's disease. Other diseases as Spinocerebellar ataxias, Parkinson's disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Schizophrenia, Obesity variant and Pharmacogenomics, making the implementation of molecular biology techniques for the diagnosis, as well as research projects. I will participate in the acquisition, processing and transfer of DNA samples for PFTDC and supervise genetic sequencing, genotype-phenotype correlation of new gene variants and interpretation of genetic results in Mexico.
