She holds a Ph.D. in Experimental Clinical Health Research, with a specialization in Clinical Pharmacology, from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM); she also holds a Ph.D. in Education Sciences. She has a Master of Science degree in Pharmacology and a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery.
Her research focuses on health economic evaluation, pharmacoeconomics, quality of life, and social determinants, with an emphasis on chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes mellitus and epilepsy. She has participated in projects and scientific publications in the fields of neurological health and public health, as well as in the training of undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students.
Her work aims to generate evidence for health decision-making and contribute to reducing disparities among vulnerable populations.
She currently serves as a faculty member at the University of Health (UNISA), where she acts as the Research Liaison for the Academy of Biomedical Sciences, of which she is a member.
