MAGOS GUERRERO, GIL ALFONSO

Dr. Gil Alfonso Magos Guerrero is a Medical Doctor, Master of Science, and Doctor of Biomedical Sciences from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where he currently serves as a tenured Full Professor (Level A) at the UNAM Faculty of Medicine. He has over four decades of academic experience in teaching, research, and institutional development. He holds a current appointment as a tenured professor, PRIDE Level C recognition, and is a National Research Candidate in the National System of Researchers, solidifying his leadership in pharmacology, phytopharmacology, and experimental toxicology.

He has developed a strong teaching career at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, teaching courses at the UNAM Faculty of Medicine and the Institute of Chemistry. He was Head of the Department of Pharmacology at the Faculty of Medicine, where he promoted innovative teaching strategies, including academic advising, interactive software, immersive virtual reality, and teacher training programs. He has published extensively in indexed national and international journals (38 articles), with approximately 919 global citations, an H-index of 17, and an i10-index of 22. He is co-author of the book *Learning Pharmacology Through Exercises* and has collaborated as an expert for the National Pharmacopoeia.

As head of the Phytopharmacology Laboratory, he conducts basic preclinical research on medicinal plants with anti-inflammatory, antihypertensive, and toxicological properties. His work also integrates the traditional knowledge of Mazahua communities through toxicological evaluation and scientific dissemination projects in collaboration with the Intercultural University of the State of Mexico. His research aims to give back to the community by promoting the responsible and scientific use of medicinal plants.
