Trained internist and nephrologist with a strong academic and clinical focus on critical care nephrology, with research centered on acute kidney injury (AKI), extracorporeal therapies, and the optimization of kidney support in critically ill patients. He currently serves as Founding Program Director and Professor-in-Charge of the High-Specialty Postgraduate Program in Critical Care Nephrology, an UNAM-accredited program within the Postgraduate Medical Education Program (PAEM) and the first of its kind in Mexico.
