CASTAÑEDA BORRAYO, YAOCIHUATL

I am a physician specialized in Occupational Health and a researcher affiliated with the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), holding a doctoral degree in Occupational Health Sciences. I am a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) in Mexico and currently serve as an Associate Researcher at IMSS.

My academic and professional work focuses on occupational health, work-related mental health, disability evaluation, and the epidemiology of occupational diseases. I am actively involved in clinical, academic, and research activities within the occupational health system, contributing to work capacity assessment, occupational risk evaluation, and the generation of scientific evidence in occupational medicine.

I participate in the training of health professionals and residents in occupational medicine and contribute to academic development initiatives in simulation-based education. I am currently a fellow at the Clinical and Surgical Simulation Center for Excellence (CeSiECQ), where I support advanced clinical training and professional development.

My research interests include occupational mental health, psychosocial risk factors at work, return-to-work processes, disability and work capacity evaluation, and epidemiological analysis of occupational diseases. I collaborate in national and international academic initiatives aimed at strengthening occupational health systems and improving workers’ well-being.

In addition to my clinical and research activities, I am an accredited external training agent registered with the Secretaría del Trabajo y Previsión Social (STPS) in Mexico, with more than 40 officially registered training programs in occupational health, workplace risk prevention, disability evaluation, and medical-legal assessment. I provide specialized advisory and professional training services for institutions and organizations seeking to strengthen occupational health, safety, and workforce well-being through evidence-based and regulatory-aligned approaches.
