AYUZO DEL VALLE, NORMA CIPATLI

Dr. Cipatli Ayuzo is a pediatrician with specialized training in clinical nutrition and adolescent mental health. She completed her medical degree with honors at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG), followed by a pediatric residency at the Hospital Infantil de México Federico Gómez and the University Hospital of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL). She holds two Master’s degrees—in Hospital Administration and Clinical Nutrition—and has completed advanced training in Brief Strategic Therapy at the Colegio de Psiquiatría de Nuevo León. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Nutrition at Universidad Iberoamericana.

Dr. Ayuzo is Director of the Adolescent Clinic at Zambrano Hellion Hospital, within the Pediatrics Institute’s Health 4Life program at TecSalud. She is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI-CONAHCYT) and part of the Obesity Research Group at TecSalud, where she leads and collaborates on clinical and translational research related to pediatric obesity, eating disorders, and adolescent health.

She serves as postgraduate faculty at Tecnológico de Monterrey and Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM), participating in the education of medical, nutrition, and psychiatry residents. Her academic roles include thesis advising, postgraduate exam evaluation, and curriculum development. She is an active member of the Mexican Academy of Pediatrics and the Academy for Eating Disorders.

In addition to authoring peer-reviewed publications, academic book chapters, and translations, Dr. Ayuzo is the author of En camino a mi recuperación (2025), a book focused on adolescent eating disorder recovery. She is also engaged in science communication, contributing regularly to national television and print media to promote awareness of adolescent nutrition, mental health, and gender equity.
