VILLAGRAN VILLEGAS, LUZ YAZMIN

Luz Yazmín Villagrán-Villegas holds two doctorates: one in Systems Engineering (2022) and another in Mechanical Engineering (2017), as well as a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (2005), all obtained from the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN). In 2015, she completed a Diploma in Leadership Applied to Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency at Harvard University, and in 2012, she completed a Diploma in Space and Lighting at Universidad Iberoamericana. She was a professor at ESIME Zacatenco, School of Communications and Electronics Engineering at the National Polytechnic Institute (1999-2022) and is currently a full-time professor at the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Universidad Veracruzana.
Her research expertise covers areas such as Tribology, Digital Systems Control, Alternative Energies, Lighting, and Energy Efficiency. She has worked as a consultant for TÜV NORD and as a technical service engineer for companies such as 3M Mexico, Solar Turbines, and Eaton Electrical. In social projects, she has developed science initiatives for children. She is currently researcher for the National System of Researchers level 1 (SNI-CONAHCYT) for the period 2025-2029 and an accredited evaluator by CONAHCYT with the Accredited Evaluator Registry (RCEA) in the field of energy. Additionally, she is a DC-5 external trainer for the STPS in courses on Photovoltaic Panels, LED Lighting Systems, Power Quality, Energy Management, Wind Turbines, Energy Savings in Companies, and Turbomachinery.
