J. A. Ruz-Hernandez (UNACAR-MEXICO) received his B. S. degree in Electronic Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico de Merida (ITM), Yucatan, Mexico. He received his M.S. degree in Control Engineering from Universidad Autonoma del Carmen (UNACAR), Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche, Mexico in 2001 and his Electrical Engineering Ph.D. from Centro de Investigacion y Estudios Avanzados del Instituto Politécnico Nacional (CINVESTAV-IPN), Guadalajara Campus, Jalisco, Mexico, in 2006. His M. S. Thesis and Ph. D Thesis won the First Place in The National Contest of Thesis in Electrical Area organized by the Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE), Mexico, Instituto de Investigaciones Eléctricas (IIE), México and IEEE during 2001 and 2006, respectively. His research interests include: intelligent control (neural and fuzzy), fault detection and diagnosis and real time control applications. He is a member of IEEE. Also, he is a member of the Mexican National Research System from CONACYT, Mexico since 2008. He is a professor and researcher of Engineering Department from UNACAR, since 1995. He was dean of this department from 2008 to 2013. He was president of UNACAR from 2013 to 2022.
