I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Guadalajara in 2008 and 2011, respectively. During my doctoral studies, in 2014, I served as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. In 2016, I earned the Doctor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute (CINVESTAV), Guadalajara Unit.
Currently, I am a Tenured Professor (Level A) in the Bachelor’s program in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and the Master’s program in Electrical Engineering, both affiliated with the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at the University Center for Exact Sciences and Engineering of the University of Guadalajara. As part of my academic duties, I have served as a member of undergraduate thesis committees, member of evaluation committees, and Secretary and Chair of academic committees, among other activities. Additionally, I have supervised two graduate students who have completed their degrees and currently supervise three master’s students working on their thesis projects.
I have authored 14 research articles published in international journals from major publishers such as IEEE, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, and Taylor & Francis Group. Finally, I am a National Researcher Level I in the National System of Researchers (SNII) of Mexico. My main research interests include the detection, characterization, and visualization of oscillatory phenomena in electric power systems using advanced data processing techniques.
