LUVIANO ORTIZ, JOSE LUIS

José Luis Luviano Ortiz is a Mechanical Engineer and Full-Time Professor–Researcher at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Guanajuato (Irapuato–Salamanca Campus), Mexico. He received his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Guanajuato, graduating with honors at all levels. His doctoral research focused on fluid flow analysis in quasi-homogeneous porous media.

He carried out a postdoctoral research stay at the Institute of Renewable Energies of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where he worked on experimental and numerical studies related to thermo-fluid sciences, including flow visualization techniques (PIV and micro-PIV), heat transfer, Stirling engines, porous media flows, and thermal management of electronic devices.

His research interests include heat and mass transfer, fluid mechanics, thermo-hydrodynamic analysis, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), thermal management systems, fuel cells, and energy-related engineering applications. He has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers at the national and international levels, and he actively participates in graduate supervision and funded research projects.
