Mario Juárez is a full-time researcher and professor in the field of power electronics, especially in the area of electronic lighting.
I completed my studies in electronic engineering at TecnM-Campus Celaya, and later pursued a Master's degree in Science in Electronic Engineering at the National Center for Research and Technological Development (CENIDET). At the same institution, I completed my Doctorate in Science in Electronic Engineering with a specialization in power electronics.
My areas of interest include electronic ballasts for discharge lamps, power LED drivers, modeling of light sources (semiconductors and discharge lamps), reliability, and service life in the controller-LED system.
I have published around 64 research papers in the field of power electronics, covering topics such as power LEDs, DC-DC converters, converters for power factor correction, ozone generators, inverters, resonant converters, lighting system reliability, among others.
I belong to TecNM/campus Irapuato, affiliated with the Graduate Program in Electronic Engineering, where I have played an active role in the training of young professionals, supervising 5 completed master's theses and currently overseeing 1 in progress. In the undergraduate program, I supervised 11 completed theses and currently have 3 in progress. I have led 6 funded research projects and participated in 10 other projects in collaboration with the Academic ITESI-CA-Power Electronics, which is a consolidated group belonging to the National System of Researchers (SNP) of CONAHCYT.
Some of my recognitions include:
State Merit Award for Researchers 2012, Morelos State.
First place nationally in the XXIII National Thesis Contests of the Electric Research Institute in the Master's category.
First place nationally in the XXI National Thesis Contests of the Electric Research Institute in the Bachelor's category.
