HERNANDEZ ROMERO, ILSE MARIA

Dr. Ilse María Hernández Romero is a researcher at the Institute of Advanced Materials for Sustainable Manufacturing at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey. She obtained her Master's and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo in 2017 and 2021, respectively, with the latter receiving Honorable Mention. Additionally, she is a member of the National System of Researchers, Level I. Her research interests are mathematical modeling, simulation, machine learning, optimization, and quantum computing. She has authored approximately 14 high-impact scientific articles on reducing CO2 emissions, implementing technologies, developing optimal operational policies, decarbonization and circular economy. Furthermore, Dr. Hernández has conducted research visits at prominent foreign institutions such as the Technical University of Denmark, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Texas A&M University. She has actively participated in international and national conferences, including the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC), and the Mexican Academy of Energy. In addition to her research endeavors, she has led projects to secure funding at both international and national levels. Finally, Dr. Hernández plays a significant role in teaching and advising undergraduate and graduate students.
