GUTIERREZ CASTREJON, RAMON

Ramón Gutiérrez-Castrejón received a B.Sc. degree in physics and an M.E.E. degree (with honors) in telecommunications from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), in 1990 and 1993, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of London, U.K. in 1997. After a post-doctoral stage at Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain, he became a Research Assistant at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich, Switzerland, and in 2001 Senior Research Scientist at the Photonics Research and Test Center of Corning Inc., in NJ, USA. He is currently teaching and conducting research in optoelectronic information processing and communication devices and systems at UNAM, Mexico City. After spending two one-year sabbaticals (2018 and 2022) at McGill University, Canada, he has been appointed Adjunct Professor of the Department of Electrical & Computer Eng. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
