FAJARDO SAN MIGUEL, GERARDO DEL JESUS

Mechanical Engineer with a Master's degree in Science in Mechanical Engineering obtained in 1999 from the Instituto Tecnológico de Veracruz. In 2004, he obtained his PhD in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Durability of concrete structures from the Université Paul Sabatier in Toulouse, France. From 1999 to 2003, he was a researcher at the Universidad Autónoma de Campeche assigned to the Gulf of Mexico Corrosion Program (now CICorr). Since 2005, he has been a research professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, where he serves as Deputy Director of Graduate Studies and Research. He is a member of the Consolidated CA "Concrete Technology" working on the LGAC "Durability of Concrete Works" and "Nanotechnology in Construction Materials." He is responsible for several research projects funded by CONAHCYT and more than 40 consulting projects linked to different industries such as VITRO, MINORTE, PROLEC GE, KANSAS CITY SOUTHERN, SIKA, TERNIUM, CEMEX, HOLCIM, among others.
He has more than 40 published articles in indexed international journals with over 600 total citations; 4 technological developments; more than 50 articles published in proceedings of peer-reviewed international conferences; and more than 60 presentations at national and international conferences. He has also directed and co-directed a total of 30 theses distributed among the levels of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. He is a national researcher Level 2 by the SNII and since 2006 has held the desirable profile granted by PRODEP.
He served as President of ALCONPAT – Mexico from 2014 to 2016, and currently serves as Honorary President. In 20and 14, he acted as Chairman of the VI ALCONPAT National Congress 2014 held in Monterrey, N.L. Mexico.
Participate as a peer reviewer of research projects in calls such as PRODEP, Basic Science, Sectoral and Mixed Funds. Has participation as a referee for the journals: Construction and Building Materials, Engineering Structures, Cement and Concrete Composites, Building and Environment, International Journal of Electrochemical Science, Investigación, Ingeniería y Tecnología, Revista ALCONPAT, Cement and Concrete: Research and Development, CIENCIA UANL, among others.

Ingeniero Mecánico con Maestría en Ciencias en Ingeniería Mecánica realizada en 1999 en el Instituto Tecnológico de Veracruz. En el 2004, obtuvo su Doctorado en Ingeniería Civil con especialidad en Durabilidad de estructuras de concreto por la Université Paul Sabatier de Toulouse, Francia. De 1999 al 2003 fue investigador de la Universidad Autónoma de Campeche adscrito al Programa de Corrosión del Golfo de México (ahora CICorr). A partir del 2005 es profesor investigador de la Facultad de Ingeniería Civil de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, en donde se desempeña como Subdirector de Estudios de Posgrado y de Investigación. Es miembro del CA Consolidado “Tecnología del Concreto” trabajando en las LGAC “Durabilidad de Obras de Concreto” y “Nanotecnología en los materiales de construcción”. Responsable de varios proyectos de investigación financiados por CONAHCYT y más de 40 proyectos de consultoría vinculados con diferentes industrias como VITRO, MINORTE, PROLEC GE, KANSAS CITY SOUTHERN, SIKA, TERNIUM, CEMEX, HOLCIM, entre otras.

Cuenta con más de 40 artículos publicados en revistas internacionales indizadas que superan las 600 citas en total; 4 desarrollos tecnológicos; más de 50 artículos publicados en memorias de congresos internacionales arbitrados; más de 60 Ponencias en Congresos nacionales e Internacionales. Así mismo, ha dirigido y co-dirigido un total de 30 tesis distribuidas entre los niveles de licenciatura, maestría y doctorado. Es investigador nacional Nivel 2 por el SNII y desde el 2006 cuenta con el perfil deseable otorgado por PRODEP.

Se desempeñó como Presidente de ALCONPAT – México de 2014 a 2016, y actulamente como Presidente de Honor. En el 2014 fungió como Chairman del VI Congreso Nacional ALCONPAT 2014 celebrado en Monterrey, N.L. México.

Participa como Par-evaluador de proyectos de investigación en convocatorias como PRODEP, Ciencia Básica, Fondos Sectoriales y Mixtos. Tiene participación como árbitro de las Revistas: Construction and Buildings Materials, Engineering Structures, Cement and Concrete Composites, Building and Environment, International Journal of Electrochemical Science, Investigación, Ingeniería y Tecnología, Revista ALCONPAT, Cemento y Concreto: Investigación y Desarrollo, CIENCIA UANL, entre otras.
