Bassam Ali is actually a Researcher Professor and the Head of Renewable Energy and sustainable development Department at Faculty of Engineering, Autonomous University of Yucatán (UADY), Mexico. He obtained his Ph.D. in Energy Engineering at the Institute of Renewable Energy, National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He is currently a member of the Mexican national system of researchers (SNI) and collaborator of several research projects in Mexico. Along with that, he is a national evaluator of the academic programs related to energy and editor of several research journals. He collaborates on different academic research projects and has worked as an expert on projects at industrial scale with different highly-reputed Mexican enterprises such as PEMEX, GREENMEX, amongst others. His area of research is focused around modeling of energy and environment systems and their optimization using new Artificial Intelligence techniques. He has published several articles in peer-reviewed impact factor journals and author of several book chapters published in prestigious publishers such as Elsevier and Springer. Currently, he is responsible for various academic and industrial research projects as well as the training of human resources at postgraduate level.
