Serena Eréndira Serrano Oswald (Mexico) is full professor at the Regional Multidisciplinary Research Centre, National Autonomous University of Mexico (CRIM-UNAM). In addition to a PhD in social anthropology (UNAM) and doctoral studies in psychology (CRISOL), she holds an MSc in social psychology (LSE), an MFT in systemic family therapy (CRISOL), and a BA Hons in political studies and history (SOAS). She has undertaken postdoctorate studies in sociology and gender (UNAM), and postgraduate specializations in teaching and supervision, infant and adolescent psychotherapy, Gestalt psychotherapy, person-centred therapy, and gender justice and public politics (FLACSO), and has eight professional diplomas in the social sciences, gender and psychotherapy.
She is certified by the National Council of Researchers (SNI II) and by UNAM (PRIDE C). She is Chair of the Women's Caucus in International Studies (WCIS-ISA, 2022), was President of the Latin American and Caribbean Regional Science Association (LARSA-RSAI, 2017-22), was General Secretary of the Latin-American Council for Peace Research (2017-19), and President of the Mexican Association of Regional Development (AMECIDER; 2013-16). She has edited thirteen books and written more than sixty scientific articles and chapters on gender, social representations, resilience, migration, regional development, and environment in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese.
