Omar Rodríguez is a civil engineer as well as a historian, he has a master’s degree in Philosophy, Sciences and Values and a PhD in Philosophy of Science. His research interests include the transition from medieval to modern thought, recovering the role of Renaissance humanism, especially in the case of natural philosophy. More specifically, he has studied the introduction of European cosmology in New Spain. Likewise, he recovers the complex interrelationships between natural, religious and political notions not only in the conceptualization of the skies of the New World but also on those same lands and their inhabitants. In addition, he also has studied the history of civil engineering in Mexico and the philosophy of technology. Currently, his research focuses on the study of the particularities of knowledge production in the multicultural societies of the early Americas and its material implications.
