I am currently a Professor at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL) within the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (FIME) and at the Tecnológico de Monterrey in the Master’s in Digital Humanities (MHD) program. This follows the completion of my Postdoctoral Fellowship at the School of Humanities and Education at Tecnológico de Monterrey. I am the Co-founder and Researcher of Redes, migrantes sin fronteras, a digital initiative that leverages AI and Digital Humanities as bridges for migrants to narrate their stories. Recently, I have been managing the Narrateca for Social Justice project, a collaborative digital repository funded by SECIHTI, and I collaborated on the Skills for the Future project with the OECD and Techint Group.

My scholarly foundation is defined by a deep interdisciplinary approach. I hold a Ph.D. in Hispanic Studies with a specialization in Visual Studies and a certificate in Digital Humanities from Texas A&M University (2022). My academic credentials also include an M.A. in Foreign Languages and Cultures from Washington State University (2011), an M.Ed. in Educational Sciences from the Universidad de Monterrey (2005), and a B.A. in Psychology from UANL (2002).

I am currently a National Researcher (SNII, Candidate 2023–2026). My academic leadership includes serving as a reviewer for the Digital Justice Grant Program of the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) and as a guest editor for the journal Virtualis. My primary objective is to use technology as a mechanism for social justice to make visible and preserve the memory of migrant communities through digital archives, network analysis, and web platform development. I have co-edited the books Media, Migrants and U.S. Border(s) (Palgrave Macmillan, 2025) and Digital Culture and the U.S.-Mexico Border (Routledge, 2024). My scientific production includes articles in journals such as the Bulletin of Latin American Research, Hispania, and Digital Humanities Quarterly.
