PhD. Cristóbal Alonso Peñaherrera Melo is an Ecuadorian industrial designer with more than five years of experience in teaching, research and projects in the areas of industrial design and interior design. He currently works as a professor and researcher at the Universidad de las Américas Puebla (UDLAP) in Puebla, Mexico, where he teaches specialized subjects such as Digital Modeling and Manufacturing, and Home Automation and Lighting.
Throughout his professional career, he has worked in various educational institutions in Ecuador, where he has led academic programs aimed at training designers, standing out for his ability to integrate industrial design and interior design concepts in innovative, social and functional projects.
In the field of research, his main lines of work include design methodologies, technology applied to space and product, urban furniture design, sustainability, and exploration of issues related to cultural identity. His interdisciplinary approach allows him to approach design from a comprehensive perspective, combining technical, aesthetic and environmental aspects to generate solutions that have a positive impact on society.
Dr. Peñaherrera Melo has made significant contributions to the field of design through academic projects, scientific publications and activities with society, establishing himself as a leader in the field of industrial and interior design, with an innovative and culturally committed approach, with excellence and the transfer of knowledge to society.
