Dutch, American-trained, socio-cultural anthropologist directing the Mexican National Scientific and Tecnological Council (CONACyT) project "Carnaval zoque: la naturaleza presente en la tradición y modernidad en Chiapas, México", which focuses on describing, documenting of, and celebrating specific ritual and everyday aspects of the zoque indigenous people´s biocultural diversity. Production focuses on academic publications, community and state level educational and museological projects, the training of undergrad and grad students, and community outreach. Additional research projects/interests pursued are: 1) cultural patrimony and museology, and 2) memory, indigeneity and representation politics. Commissioned under the CONACYT Young Research Fellow Program to the University of Sciences and Arts of Chiapas, Mexico
