Mexican planner with twenty years of experience in academia and professional practice. I hold a Ba in Architecture, a Master's degree in Urban Studies and a Ph.D. in Urban Studies and Planning. I have worked in academia since 2003 and have conducted urban consultancy since 2010. My research focuses on forms of urban fragmentation (in social and physical terms), including issues of segregation - particularly in gated communities. I have also worked in research projects about community adaptation to climate-related risks, forms of social exclusion, uncertainty, solidarity and planning injustice.
