David Jorge is a permanent Full time teaching researcher in El Colegio de México (Mexico), one of the most prestigious academic institutions in Latin America and the most important one in relation to Modern Spanish History. He previously has been researcher at Wesleyan University (United States of America), the Universidad Autónoma de México and the Universidad del Mar at Huatulco (Mexico).
Jorge is the author of two books: Inseguridad colectiva: La Sociedad de Naciones, la Guerra de España y el fin de la paz mundial (2016) and War in Spain: Appeasement, Collective Insecurity and the failure of European democracies against fascism (Routledge, 2020, forthcoming) and has edited three collective volumes on transnational history in the XXth Century. He has published his scientific papers in prominent Journals indexed in SCOPUS and JCR such as Ayer and Contemporary European History.
He is Member of the Board of Directors of the Mexican Association of International Studies (AMEI), Member of the Board of Directors of the Ateneo Español de México and head of the ad hoc Academic Committee History of the Discipline of International Relations, Co-founder of the International History Seminar –SHI– (El Colegio de México / UNAM), Expert appointed by the European Commission within the H2020 Program - European Research and Innovation, and Founder and editor of H-SPAIN, an online academic network belonging to H-NET (“Humanities & Social Sciences Online”, Michigan State University).
