FRAGIO GISTAU, ALBERTO

Alberto Fragio earned his PhD in Philosophy (2011) from Scuola Internazionale di Alti Studi di Modena (Italy), and in Science and Culture from the Universidad Autonoma of Madrid (Spain). From 2007 to 2010 he undertook a dedicated research project on Blumenberg’s history and philosophy of science with the support of the Scuola Internazionale di Alti Studi, Fondazione Collegio San Carlo, and the Research Group of Historical Epistemology and History of Emotions at Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas. He has been holder of a Swiss Government Scholarship at Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich (ETH) – Chair for Science Studies (Switzerland), and a Gerda Henkel Stiftung postdoctoral fellowship at the Institut für Medizingeschichte und Wissenschaftsforschung der Universität zu Lübeck (Germany).

Alberto Fragio has published several books, one of them on contemporary historical epistemology, entitled De Davos a Cerisy-La-Salle: la epistemología histórica en el contexto europeo (Saarbrücken 2011); two books on history and philosophy of science entitled Paradigms for a Metaphorology of the Cosmos. Hans Blumenberg and the Contemporary Metaphors of the Universe (Roma 2015), and Metaphors of Subjectivity in 19th Century Psychology, and other Essays; and one book on the German philosopher Hans Blumenberg: Destrucción, cosmos, metáfora. Ensayos sobre Hans Blumenberg (Milano 2013). On this same author, he has also co-edited a multilingual monography, entitled Hans Blumenberg. Nuovi paradigmi d’analisi (Roma 2010).
