Antonio Alcala Gonzalez, PhD in English Literature (UNAM), is Literature professor and Head of the Humanistic Studies Department at Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico City. He is founder of the International Gothic Literature Congress which has been held every 2 years at Mexico City since 2008, and active member of the International Gothic Association (IGA). He has co-edited both a Gothic Studies special issue on Nautical Gothic and the critical collection Doubles and Hybrids in Latin American Gothic. He is currently preparing a co-edited volume on the presence of Lovecraft’s fiction in recent decades and a monographic study on Nautical Horror.
