I was born in 1957. I studied engineering at the National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico City. The master's degree in 1997 and the doctorate in 2005, at the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics. I have been working at INAOE since 1982. In recent years I have worked in the deposit, characterization of amorphous materials of silicon, germanium and carbon. Since 2010, I have been working with metallic oxides of titanium, tin and zinc, obtaining nanostructures for applications in photocatalysis and photovoltaics.
