Alfredo R. Vilchis-Nestor is a Professor at Chemistry Department of the Autonomous University of the State of México, since 2009, as part of the Joint Center for Research in Sustainable Chemistry UAEM-UNAM, where he manages the Electron Microscopy Laboratory and Materials Chemistry Laboratory. Author of 80+ research articles focused on biogenic synthesis of metallic and metal oxide nanoparticles and hybrid nanomaterials, characterization of nanomaterials by electron microscopy for applications as optical sensors and environmental remediation.
Member of the National Researchers System of CONACYT from México (SNI-2). Since 2010 he has participated as organizing committee in academic meetings (CNCIM and ANFEQUI) and organizer of the Nanostructured Materials and Nanotechnology Symposia in the IMRC since 2021.
