Everardo Vargas-Rodriguez received the B.Sc. Degree in electronic engineering from the Technologic of Celaya, Mexico, after he was awarded with a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Guanajuato, Mexico, and later he received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom. Since 2008 he has been with the University of Guanajuato developing research and teaching activities. Moreover, from 2008-2016 he served as a Director of the Department for Multidisciplinary Studies.
In research he has coauthored more than sixty research articles, most of them published in journals indexed in the JCR of Clarivate. Moreover, since 2018 he has been an Academic Editor of the Journal of Sensors edited by Wiley. Additionally, from 2022 he has been member of the topical advisory panel of the Photonics journal edited by MDPI. In 2025 he was recognized as senior Member of OPTICA society.
His research interest includes optical sensors design, interferometry, spectroscopy, fiber lasers, signal processing, instrumentation, data analysis and artificial intelligence.
