SANCHEZ DENA, OSWALDO

Oswaldo Sánchez Dena studied Physics at the Faculty of Sciences of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). He completed his Master's studies in Science and Materials Engineering at the Institute of Physics-UNAM in 2016. In 2020, he received his Doctorate degree, also within the Graduate Program in Science and Materials Engineering at UNAM. He was awarded twice with the Juan Manuel Lozano Mejía Prize (Diploma) for the best Master's (2017) and Doctoral (2021) theses. He is currently part of the National System of Researchers, level I.
Dr. Sánchez is a Full Time Researcher, part of the SECIHTI IxM program (2021), with a commission at the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez (UACJ) since January 2022. At IIT-UACJ, he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in areas related to engineering and materials science, and he is an active member of the academy of Physics and UACJ-CA-80 Materials Physics Academic Body. Since August 2023, he has been an active collaborator of the SECIHTI thematic network “Energy Storage Network.” He has published around 20 scientific articles in international journals (which have accumulated nearly 300 citations) and has participated in more than 25 international conferences. The research topics that define his current interests are: 1) Extraction and other processing of lithium found in clays and ores, 2) Synthesis and characterization of materials for rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, 3) Recycling of rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.
