My research focuses primarily on the synthesis, modification, and characterization of advanced nanomaterials for biomedical applications. I have worked on developing various nanostructured systems, including metallic nanoparticles, silica nanoparticles, layered double hydroxides (LDHs), gold nanoshells, porous silicon, and two-dimensional materials such as graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides.
My experience encompasses both top-down and bottom-up synthesis methods, including colloidal synthesis, liquid-phase exfoliation, mechanical milling, chemical vapor deposition (CVD), and electrochemical etching. In addition, I specialize in the physicochemical characterization of materials using a wide range of instrumental techniques, as well as in data analysis and interpretation, with a focus on process optimization and synthesis improvement.
The applications of my research are primarily in the biomedical field, particularly in developing platforms for cancer detection and treatment and in designing adjuvants for nanovaccines. Additionally, I have participated in projects related to electrochemical applications of advanced materials.
I have a multidisciplinary academic background that includes a Bachelor’s degree in Bioprocess Engineering, a Master’s degree in Bioprocess Sciences, and an Institutional Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering. Furthermore, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship in advanced materials at the Instituto Potosino de Investigación Científica y Tecnológica (IPICYT), and I am currently conducting a postdoctoral research stay at the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí (UASLP).
Throughout my career, I have collaborated in interdisciplinary environments with specialists in chemistry, physics, and biomedical sciences, which has allowed me to develop a comprehensive perspective for the design and application of functional materials.
