Dr. Nancy Ramírez, with a PhD in Coastal Oceanography, has approximately 22 years of experience in research on environmental pollution. Throughout her career, she has played a fundamental role in the training of human resources in undergraduate and graduate programs at the Faculty of Marine Sciences of the Autonomous University of Baja California, as well as in other national institutions. She has participated in nearly 20 research projects, contributing as a technical manager and as an associate researcher.
Her experience includes the implementation and application of various extraction and analysis techniques for organic and inorganic contaminants, such as petroleum hydrocarbons, chlorinated pesticides, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), brominated flame retardants (PBDEs), and heavy metals, among others. Since 2015, she has focused her efforts on the analysis of microplastics in different environmental settings.
