Ph.D. José Juan Ortega Sigala was a research-professor for 11 years in the Physics Academic Unit of the Autonomous University of Zacatecas. Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering (Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí, 2014). Master in Physical Sciences (Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí, 2010). Degree in Physics (Autonomous University of Zacatecas, 2008) Member of the Mexican National System of Researchers (level 1). Head of the Materials Synthesis and Characterization Laboratory at the Physics Academic Unit. The scope of experience includes the science and engineering of semiconductor materials, metallic nanoparticles, thin solid films, perovskites, and vacuum, as well as the use of spectroscopic techniques, X-ray diffraction, and electronic microscopies. Ortega has directed 8 postgraduate theses and 17 graduate theses, obtaining two recognitions as the main advisor, one as the advisor of the best graduate thesis in 2022 and the other as the advisor of the best evaluated postgraduate thesis in 2023.
