Dr. Elena Mihalcea is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas, Mexico, working on the project "Development of tantalum-based hybrid materials through powder metallurgy for biomedical applications". Her PhD research at TecNM/Instituto Tecnológico de Morelia, México, focused on the development of new biomedical composites for bone implants. She graduated in 2004 with an MSc in Mecatronics from University Politehnica of Bucharest, Romania.
