MENDOZA MARTINEZ, MARIA LUISA

Dr. María Luisa Mendoza Martínez obteined her Bachelor's degree in Mathematics at the Universidad Veracruzana. Later, she obteined her Master's degree and Ph.D in Science in the speciality of Mathematics at the Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados del Instituto Politécnico Nacional (CINVESTAV). During her doctoral studies, she received the Sofía Kovalévskaia Award, granted by the Sofía Kovalévskaia Foundation and the Sociedad Matemática Mexicana for the Development of Mathematical Research in Mexico. She has published original research articles, according to Scopus. She is also member of the National System of Researchers in Mexico, Level candidate and is part of the research group Nanotechnology and Semiconductors at the National School of Engineering and Sciences at Tecnológico de Monterrey. Her research focuses on mathematical modeling and non-Archimedean analysis, with applications in physics, statistics, and complex systems.

Since 2017, she has been attached to the Department of Basic Sciences at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Querétaro. She has been involved in more than 30 conferences and workshops, being a lecturer in 28 of them, 22 national and 6 international, being a plenary speaker in two of them. She has been recognized multiple times for her outstanding teaching, receiving excellent evaluations in the Student Opinion Survey (ECOA) and the Graduating Candidates Survey (ECAG), consistently scoring above 9 from 2019 to 2026. In recognition of her contributions to student development, she was awarded the Inspirational Professor distinction by Tecnológico de Monterrey in 2026.

In 2023 and 2024, she was involved in the design and implementation of international GSL: Classroom experiences with universities in Colombia. She has also collaborated on institutional projects related to educational innovation and the use of artificial intelligence in academic assessment, such as Gradescope and the Adaptive Learning Strategy. She contributed to the curriculum design of the Data Science and Mathematics Engineering (IDM) program.

Since July 2025, she has been serving as an Adjunct Professor at the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro. Since May 2026, she has also been affiliated as a collaborator with the Applied Mathematics Research Group at the same institution..

She loves teaching and influences the formation of the new generations. She enjoys teaching math, showing it attractive, applicable, useful, and accessible.
