José Luis González is a professor of physics and molecular spectroscopy in the schools of mechatronic and biochemistry engineering and head of Biophysics and Biomedical Sciences Laboratory at Department of Exact Sciences and Technology of Centro Universitario de los Lagos, Universidad de Guadalajara. He did his doctorate and postdoctorate in the D0 detector in Fermilab. His main topics of interest are, Raman spectroscopy techniques, such as conventional Raman spectroscopy, Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS), and Raman imaging, as well as clustering methods, such as Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Super Paramagnetic Clustering (SPC). The Raman techniques and clustering methods are applied in the detection of degenerative diseases like diabetes, leukemia, cervical and breast cancer.
