I hold a BS degree in Biology by Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (UNC), Argentina, and a PhD in Natural Resource Management by Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).
I conducted postdoctoral research at Yale’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and at UNAM. Currently, I’m an Associate Professor at UNAM’s Centro de Investigaciones en Geografía Ambiental.
My research interests are:
1. Spatiotemporal assessments of environmental impacts of fuelwood extraction and charcoal production under traditional or low-tech patterns.
2. Woodfuel supply/demand scenarios within dynamic landscapes, i.e. integrating prospective landscape simulations.
I teach undergraduate and graduate courses on applied geostatistics and modeling techniques by means of computer simulations.
