GARCIA FERNANDEZ, TUPAK ERNESTO

Tupak García-Fernández was born in Havana, Cuba. He earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Physics from the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University in Saint Petersburg, Russia, in 1992, followed by a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Havana in 2001. Between 1992 and 2003, he conducted his research at the University of Havana. He then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Autonomous National University of Mexico from 2003 to 2005. Since 2006, he has held the position of Professor and Researcher at the Autonomous University of Mexico City. His research interests span a variety of fields including laser-matter interactions, materials science and engineering, plasma physics, as well as nanoscience and nanotechnology.
