CASTILLO PEREZ, RAUL

Raúl Castillo-Pérez is professor of Optical Communications, Antenna Theory, Radio Wave Propagation, Advanced Electromagnetic Engineering, Selected Topics in Modeling, Mathematics, and Function Theory and Functional Analysis in the Research and Graduate Studies Department at the Zacatenco Unit of the Superior School of Mechanics and Electric Engineering (ESIME-Zacatenco Instituto Politécnico Nacional) and at the Interdisciplinary Professional Unit for Engineering and Advanced Technologies of the National Polytechnic Institute (SEPI-UPIITA IPN) in México City. He is a member of the Mexican Researchers National System (Sistema Nacional de Investigadores, Mexico), currently SNI-I. He received his M.Sc. in Telecommunications Engineering from ESIME-Zacatenco and his Ph.D. in Communications and Electronics from ESIME-Culhuacan and made a posdoctoral fellow at Aveiro University (Portugal)/Cinvestav (Center for Research and Advanced Studies) campus Queretaro in 2008-2010. He is the recipient of the Best Thesis Award to the best postgraduate thesis in 2001 at the area of Engineering and Mathematical-Physics Sciences (IPN). His research interests are optical and microwave communications, propagation modeling in inhomogenous media and application of complex analysis to engineering problems.
